The Balboa Fun Zone

California's Newport Harbor was known as 'The Balboa Fun Zone', a place for families & teenagers of the 1930's to play during the day and party at night. A miniature amusement park, the Fun Zone at one time covered the entire block between Palm Street and Washington Street on the Bay Front.

Modern Newport Beach still relies on the draw of it's great coastal attractions, activities and history. Many original landmarks are treasured on Balboa Island, and if you visit today be sure to stop and dance at all of the historic spots on the Balboa Peninsula and other History pages in this section.
